Job Purpose

The responsibilities of this position are directly related to Hunting PLC Group Accounting Policies and will require the exercise of sound independent judgement, strict confidentiality, discretion and trustworthiness.  This position will be under the general supervision of the Senior Controller or his/her designate and provide support to the business unit management team, Hunting PLC (London) and the North American corporate accounting group (Houston.)

The senior accountant is focused on maintaining group general ledger accounts throughout the monthly, half year and annual accounting cycles.  This position is responsible for monthly account reconciliations and analysis.  This position requires the ability to manage competing priority’s and stringent deadlines.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Banking

  • Fixed asset inventory

  • Warehouse and inventory control support

  • Payroll support

  • Fixed asset additions and disposal

  • Review/post all purchase receiving batches

  • Generate management reports in COGNOS and Great Plains

  • Enter and approve adjusting journal entries

  • Flash reporting worksheet – monthly estimate of results

  • Fixed asset reconciliations and reports

  • General accounting duties as assigned

  • Review revenue and Accounts Receivable activity

Required Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

  • 5+ years related experience

  • Working Knowledge of International and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Must possess the ability to manage deadlines by prioritizing and leveraging computer skills

  • Accounting Systems savvy

  • Excellent Excel Spreadsheet knowledge
